Join our Propulsion Concepts and Controls team as our next Propulsion Engineer!
In this role you will support the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program as a delegate Certified Principal Engineer (CPE) for the Divert and Attitude Control System (DACS) - conducting on-site integration including design, development, manufacturing, test, and integration for flight as well as ground systems. The NGI program is a key centerpiece of the improved ground based midcourse defense weapon system, and is designed to defend against the current and evolving ballistic missile threats.
As a component and system deligate, you will be empowered to develop technical solutions, perform propulsion design and analysis throughout different phases of the product life-cycle in coordination - and as a mentee - to the system CPE.
Other duties may include:
- Assist on the conceptual development, requirements definition, design, and analysis of propulsion components across missile and interceptor concepts.
- Perform trade studies to select the appropriate design solution.
- Develop product performance specifications, statements of work, and supplier data requirements for components.
- Participate in development of system and interface requirements.
- Participate in shop floor and production hardware processing on-site at partner facilities.
- Provide input to process planning; support production meetings; and work with supply chain to assure that design requirements are met.
- Support subsystem integration and testing.
- Perform technical evaluations on supplier proposals and review supplier data submittals.
- Respond to Vendor Requests for Information or Change.
- Evaluate and disposition nonconforming propulsion hardware.
- Support dynamic test definitions, requirements development, test monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
- Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer reviews, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance - candidate must be a US Citizen
Desired Skills
- Understanding of propulsion/energetics component and system design, development, manufacture, and test.
- Experience or education in propulsion relevant disciplines (e.g. fluids, thermodynamics, controls, combustion)
- Interface experience with subcontract suppliers.
- Hands-on hardware experience with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems in a test, production, or operations capacity.
- Advanced degree in a technical field.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
