What does this role look like?
This position is part of the Lockheed Martin Space Enterprise Communications team and will support Social Impact communications, partnerships and engagements for the Space business area and across the corporation. This person will be an important thought partner, developing strategic storytelling narratives and plans, bolstering Lockheed Martin’s presence in the community and fostering and maintaining key stakeholder groups, including nonprofit and educational partners and Lockheed Martin leaders and employees. This individual will work with an integrated, cross-functional team and external community partners to amplify our company’s social impact and strategically engage employees. The position reports to the Social Impact Manager who is based in Denver, CO.
Integrated Communications Planning and Storytelling
- Ensure social impact communications are coordinated across channels, audiences and stakeholders, including employees, leaders, nonprofit partners and community audiences, and support integrated communications planning for key partnerships and activations.
Community Partner Engagement and Portfolio Management
- Enhance Lockheed Martin’s community presence by leading partnerships with select nonprofit organizations, identifying strategic grant funding opportunities and executing employee engagement activities
- Manage a portfolio of strategic nonprofit and educational partners, including relationship management, grantmaking coordination, volunteer engagement and impact tracking.
Employee Engagement
- Strategically engage employees in volunteerism and community impact opportunities that are aligned to business priorities and nonprofit partner needs.
- Advise employees, employee groups and leaders nationwide on company policies and procedures related to volunteerism, fundraising and philanthropy.
Additional responsibilities:
- Collaborate with members of the Lockheed Martin Communications team and extended stakeholder teams including Government Relations, HR, etc. to ensure integrated execution of campaigns and projects.
- Additional duties that support day-to-day operations of the Communications function.
- Position involves occasional work on evenings, weekends and travel.

This position does not support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility one of the Coolest places to work: Denver, Colorado , and be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:
- 3+ years relevant experience in corporate social responsibility, communications, public relations, employee experience and/or marketing communications.
- Experience with corporate grantmaking and/or employee volunteer programs (experience with tools like CyberGrants or Benevity a plus).
- Familiarity with the fundamentals of corporate social responsibility, employee engagement and communications.
- Demonstrated excellent communications skills with strong writing and editing ability, including AP Style.
- Demonstrated experience in working across functional and complex organizations.
Desired Skills
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as journalism, communications or public relations
- Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s business
- Experience with strategic planning and project management
- Confidence when presenting to large groups of employees, including leaders
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and work well under deadline pressure with employees at all levels
- Proactive, enthusiastic, highly organized and results-oriented, with a strong sense of follow-up and closure
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
- A team player
- Certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability or Environmental Social Governance
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $67400.00 - $125200.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
