The Digital Systems Principal Architect for Lockheed Martin's Ignite Edge Processing team will establish, develop and lead the technology insertion and definition for LM space as well as multi-domain networking products.
The individual is responsible for the selecting and defining technologies, applications, interfaces, protocols, networking architectures, fault tolerance, self-healing, network management, and overall system architecture of current and next generation space systems enabling industry leading processing, data transport, data fusion and cognitive capabilities on our space platforms.
Successful candidates will:
-Understand and develop architectures supporting multi-domain networks
-Work with stakeholders to understand and establish requirements and decompose the requirements into executable architectures.
-Be able to effectively communicate to stakeholders technical and programmatic trades of different technologies and architectures.
-Provide technical leadership to select, design, and deliver comprehensive space systems.
Standard Job Description: Designs, develops and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serves as focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. Ensures conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition. Supports internal and external design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Basic Qualifications
- 15+ years experience with electronics or software architecture or product development
- Experience with either technical or programmatic leadership for proposals or programs
- Ability to obtain & maintain a TS security clearance (or higher)
Desired Skills
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Experience working directly with space customers to solve mission-level challenges

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $228100.00 - $423700.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $205300.00 - $381300.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $182500.00 - $338900.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $164200.00 - $305000.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Camden, AR; Lexington, KY; Lufkin, TX; etc.
