Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
The Project Engineer Sr. will bridge Digital Transformation and Security for the NGI Program, specifically addressing the gap in program-wide approval processes for new AI tools and digital tools supporting Unclassified CUI use. Responsibilities include coordinating the planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects; reviewing product design and tool configurations for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and CUI specifications; evaluating and approving design changes, specification releases, and configuration updates for AI/digital agents (e.g., enterprise search AI agents querying NGI SharePoint, Digital Twin capabilities, LM Navigator); coordinating technical development, scheduling, and resolution of engineering design/test problems; and serving as the primary liaison between DX teams, Security leadership, and Program management to enable safe, compliant adoption of digital technologies.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of project engineering, systems engineering, or technical program coordination experience in aerospace/defense programs
- Proven experience establishing or improving approval/governance processes for new technologies or AI tools in regulated or classified environments
- Familiarity with Considered Unclassified Information (CUI) handling, NGI mission areas, or SharePoint-based collaborative platforms
- Strong background in coordinating engineering design changes, specification releases, and cross-functional project integration
- Ability to translate security requirements into actionable engineering workflows and documentation
- Excellent communication skills for engaging Digital Transformation teams, Security leadership, and Program Management
Desired Skills
- Familiarization with NGI Program Security Classification guides
- Experience/familiarization with Digital Twin implementations, enterprise search AI agents, or similar digital transformation initiatives
- Prior exposure to Lockheed Martin data platforms
- Background in reviewing design compliance against engineering principles and customer specification requirements for CUI programs
- Familiarity with NGI Program office processes or Unclassified CUI program management
- Knowledge of tool eligibility frameworks, data handling policies, and platform integration governance for AI/digital agents.

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $106600.00 - $198000.00

- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $95900.00 - $178100.00

- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $85300.00 - $158300.00
