Our team at Lockheed Martin, is dedicated to engineering, developing, and integrating new capabilities for the Missile Defense System that protects the United States and its allies. While we are part of a large organization, we operate within smaller, agile teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Our responsibilities include Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security, and enhancing critical missile defense technologies.

THE WORK

The Scrum Master / CAM is a hybrid servant‑leader role that drives Agile delivery while providing cost‑ and schedule‑accountability for multiple Control Accounts (CAs) and Work Packages (WPs) within the Modeling and Simulation Vistas program. The candidate will facilitate Scrum (and other Agile) practices for a cross‑functional software development team, remove impediments, coach on Agile values, and simultaneously manage earned‑value, budgeting, and risk reporting to ensure the program meets its technical, cost, and schedule commitments.

Agile & Scrum Leadership
    • Facilitate Scrum events – daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint review, and retrospective.
    • Maintain Scrum artifacts – keep the Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, and Increment transparent, current, and aligned with the program’s Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).

Control Account Management (CAM) Duties
    • Establish and assess progress of multiple CAs and WPs against the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) using Agile planning data (e.g., Jira).
    • Earned‑value & cost management – develop, monitor, and forecast time‑phased budgets; apply Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques (BCWP, BCWS, ACWP, CPI, SPI) to evaluate performance.
    • Risk & opportunity management – identify, log, and communicate technical and financial risks; propose mitigation or exploitation strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in a software development environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile project‑management tools; familiarity with Earned Value Management software (e.g., Deltek, Primavera).

  • Cost Account Management: Experience in Cost Account Management or Earned Value Management for aerospace/defense programs.
  • Agile expertise: Deep knowledge of Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and ability to tailor Agile practices to large, multi‑disciplinary programs.
  • Earned‑value & budgeting: Hands‑on experience applying EVM metrics, developing Basis of Estimates, and managing time‑phased budgets.
  • Leadership & facilitation: Strong facilitation, communication, conflict‑resolution, and coaching abilities; proven track record of leading teams through forming, storming, norming, and delivering value.
  • Risk & opportunity management: Ability to identify, analyze, and communicate financial and technical risks; develop mitigation plans.
  • Program coordination: Experience coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines and interfacing with senior program stakeholders.
  • Self‑direction: Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and apply best practices without micromanagement.
  • Certifications: SAFe Scrum Master, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or Professional Scrum Master (PSM).
  • AI prompting proficiency: Skilled at leveraging AI tools (e.g., large‑language‑model prompting) to enhance Agile planning, reporting, and documentation.
  • OSF Experience: Preferred to have experience with the Objective Simulation Framework and/or M&S Tools.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
