The Work      

In this role, you will drive unification and automation of processes to enable development of software capability across the entire GWS system. You will be instrumental in combining code, application maintenance, and application management. All these tasks rely on understanding not only development life cycles, but DevSecOps culture, and its philosophy, practices, and tools. You bring a curiosity and understanding of the development lifecycle goals and the transactions occurring within pipelines, scanning tools, deployments, and all steps of the development lifecycle. You will actively interface with DevSecOps and engineering teams to coordinate and optimize the steps that execute within the DevSecOps ecosystem and bring consistency and best practices in approach, tools, and standards. You will also create and maintain fully automated Continuous Integration (CI) build processes, which include writing builds and deployment scripts.

 

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 4 Years with Masters; 2 Years with PhD

• Current GWS IDT DevSecOps experience

• Experience developing object oriented software in C++, Java, Python

• Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools and pipelines

• Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Coverity, etc.

• Recent Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud

• Recent Experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services

• Communicates effectively, both internally and externally to team

• US Citizenship, with a active DoD Secret clearance

• Must be able to support an in-person, closed-area work environment 100% of the time 

Desired Skills

• Prior experience working on Missile Defense programs

• Prior experience working using DOORS

• Prior experience using Atlassian Tools

• Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices

• Prior experience as a Product Owner

• Familiar with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo

• Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $120600.00 - $224000.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
