The Simulation Architect will serve as the technical leader for all aspects of simulation within the system‑engineering community.
This role is responsible for defining the Simulation Concept of Operations (ConOps), steering the overall simulation design, guiding modernization initiatives, and creating new high‑fidelity models that enable emerging system capabilities. The incumbent will partner with cross‑functional teams—including requirements, architecture, software, test, and program management—to ensure that simulation solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned with mission objectives.
You will join a team of Systems Engineers developing a high fidelity missile simulation for a Missile Defense program from prototype to fielding of specific capabilities. This role will also support Internal Research and Development (IRAD) activities on behalf o the simulation team.
- Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degre in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: Models and Simulation Development, System Performance Analysis, or System Design
- Knowledge of Modern Programming Languages (C++, C, Python, MatLab, FORTRAN)
- Experience as a project, technical, or team lead
- Experience developing software to support a complex simulation
- Experience with one or more elements of the Missile Defense Programs (such as THAAD, Patriot, AEGIS, C2BMC, etc)
- U.S Citizenship with Active Secret Clearance
Desired Skills
- Experience with developing System Architectures and CONOPs
- Experience mentoring and developing Systems Engineering Talent
- Experience with Internal Research and Development (IRAD) projects
- Extensive background in one or more of the following areas as it relates to Missile Defense: Battle Management and Fire Control, Interceptor Guidance Navigation & Control, Sensor Processing, System Architecture
- Experience with algorithm development
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to a technical and non-technical audience
- Capable of performing tasks with limited oversight and limited direction
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
