Lockheed Martin's Investor Relations team is seeking a Senior Manager, serving as the analytical and investor targeting side of the IR function. Reporting to the Director of Investor Relations, this role drives the financial modeling, valuation analytics, and investor intelligence that underpin the company's engagement with the investment community. This is a high-visibility, high-impact opportunity for a strong finance professional ready to deepen their expertise in capital markets and shareholder strategy, with regular exposure to senior leadership work products including materials prepared for the CFO and CEO. The role is ideal for individuals who want to absorb as much knowledge as possible over an 18-to-24-month window and use that momentum to launch into their next career phase. We expect and encourage the Senior Manager to transition from the role within two years, at which time the incumbent will be well positioned to carry this capital markets perspective into their next assignment within the broader Finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain valuation and financial models supporting the IR function, including DCF, sum-of-the-parts, peer comparables, free cash flow analysis, and scenario modeling
  • Track, synthesize, and reconcile sell-side consensus estimates at the corporate and business area level; monitor estimate revisions, price target changes, and rating actions and communicate implications to IR leadership
  • Conduct shareholder base analysis, ownership tracking, and quarterly surveillance of institutional positions using 13F filings and third-party data
  • Support investor targeting and tiering: profile institutional investors and funds, assess fit against the company's shareholder strategy, and maintain the targeting database and CRM
  • Prepare briefing materials, talking points, and analytical backup for the Director, VP of IR, and senior executives ahead of earnings calls, conferences, roadshows, and one-on-one investor meetings
  • Support quarterly earnings preparation, including peer benchmarking, Q&A development, and post-call analysis of analyst reactions and estimate changes
  • Perform competitive and market intelligence analysis, including peer disclosures, sector trends, and capital deployment benchmarking

Develop recurring reporting for internal stakeholders, including leadership summaries of sell-side activity, shareholder movements, and market performance

Candidates should expect to travel as business needs require (a minimum of 25%) and support quarterly/year-end closing activities. Work Location will be Bethesda, MD.



Represents the company and its relationships between the company, its stockholders, and various financial institutions. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Briefs and offers management counsel on matters affecting the company's relationships with the investment community and individual share owners. Speaks for management and serves as authoritative central source of disclosable financial information and perspectives needed by investment professionals. Provides and coordinates information for security analysts, investor clubs, and similar groups.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, equity research, investment banking, valuation, or related analytical discipline
  • Advanced financial modeling skills in Excel, including comfort-building valuation models from source filings
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statements, SEC filings, and disclosure practices
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to distill complex analysis into concise executive-ready materials
  • High attention to detail and sound judgment handling material non-public information

Desired Skills

  • MBA, CPA, or CFA (or progress toward)
  • Experience with investor relations platforms, shareholder surveillance tools, or market data services (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ)
  • Familiarity with the aerospace & defense sector
  • Experience supporting senior executives with analytical and briefing materials
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and initiative in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Interest in a multi-assignment finance career path across the enterprise

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $151800.00 - $281800.00
