Role Overview: The Electrical Test Operations Engineer (ETOE) will plan, prepare, and execute test activities for the Artemis program. The role coordinates all phases of test preparation and execution, works in and around flight hardware, configures and utilizes electrical test equipment, and develops and maintains test procedures. This role provides in‑person support throughout the third‑shift schedule, including weekends and occasional holiday coverage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve certification as an ETOE.
  • Provide night shift, in person test support for a 24 × 7 test program that operates 365 days a year, including holidays.
  • Prepare and configure electrical test equipment, GSE, and instrumentation in accordance with certified test conductor (CTC) direction.
  • Develop and maintain detailed test plans and procedures for SOPs, EFCPs, and harnessing and/or instrumentation.
  • Read and understand detailed test plans, procedures, and schedules.
  • Participate in the execution of functional, performance, and environmental tests within a collaborative team environment.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline)
  • Proficiency with electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers)
  • Ability to work long term night shift schedule, including weekends and occasional holidays.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures.
  • Ability to lift test equipment (typically up to 40 lb) and work at various heights or confined spaces.
  • Ability to document test results, write technical instructions, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams using voice net‑communications.

Desired Skills

 

  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Basic exposure to crewed spacecraft or high‑reliability flight hardware (e.g., academic projects, co‑op assignments, internships – especially any night‑shift or off‑hour testing).
  • Fundamental understanding of test engineering processes—test plans, procedures, execution—gained through coursework, labs, or short‑term projects.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently while always following approved procedures and coordinating with the broader team.
  • Experience with automation‑framework tools.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $58200.00 - $108200.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
