Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) is advancing next-generation capabilities that solve complex defense challenges. Our Strategic Spectrum Solutions (S3) portfolio develops, delivers, and sustains end-to-end converged cyber and electronic warfare solutions. We integrate software-defined RF, signal processing, cyber, and mission systems technologies to deliver transformational capabilities for the warfighter.

The Work

As a strategic engineering leader, you will shape the technical talent and capabilities supporting a global portfolio of deployed systems. You will build and grow multidisciplinary engineering teams, ensure personnel are properly equipped and resourced, and develop engineering plans, schedules, and performance metrics that drive cost, schedule, and technical performance.You will support business growth by developing compelling technical solutions and proposals that balance technical excellence with cost and schedule commitments. You will champion engineering best practices, drive process improvements, and leverage 1LMX and other digital tools to improve execution and efficiency. You will also strengthen long-term capabilities through knowledge transfer, workforce planning, skill development, and proactive transition planning.

Who You Are

You are a versatile engineering leader with experience across modern defense software and systems development. You have hands-on experience across diverse domains such as signal processing, software-defined radio, mission planning, command and control, RF and antenna technologies. You understand cloud-native, virtualized, and containerized environments and are experienced with MBSE, integration and test, CI/CD pipelines, and RF test procedures. You bring strong technical leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent technical degree with 14 years of professional experience; OR 12 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree
  • Experience leading diverse teams to design, develop, produce, sustain, and evolve complex mission solutions.
  • Experience driving closure and resolving complex technical issues/challenges.
  • Experience growing an organization, building cross-functional engineering talent, and shaping new business opportunities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Desired Skills

  • Subject matter expert in engineering processes and best practices including model-based engineering, requirements management and verification, agile development, CI/CD and DevSecOps, defect management and resolution, and engineering change management.  
  • Excellent communicator, with experience presenting to executive leadership and customer stakeholders, and excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate full spectrum leadership skills and behaviors.
  • T-shaped professional with deep expertise in one of the disciplines listed below as well as cross-disciplinary foundation across others
  • Familiarity with Systems engineering, Integration and test, RF and antenna systems, Software defined radio and signal processing, Mission planning, command, and control, Software development and CI/CD practices, Hardware design and drawings, Information technology infrastructure and cyber security, and Sustainment engineering and training

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
