You will have the opportunity to be a full-stack developer working on both front-end and back-end software using JavaScript as well as developing automated tests (unit tests, service level tests, and end-to-end tests) to ensure high quality software that is built into our continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.

 

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:​

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Recent experience in software development Java for full-stack development
  • Recent Java experience with frameworks for cloud environments (e.g. Quarkus)
  • Experience writing and running unit tests with tools such as JUnit
  • Experience with application containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Rancher, etc.) in a cloud environment (AWS/Azure/Openstack/Openshift)
  • Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools
  • Experience with software version control tools, such as Git
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Candidate must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance, but no clearance is required to start

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a computer science, computer engineering, other engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Recent experience in software development using JavaScript and Node.js
  • Experience with creating, running, and maintaining automated tests
  • Familiarity with the Space Domain
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Experience with API design and development, such as RESTful APIs
  • Experience with microservices and microservice architecture
  • Experience working on large-scale software projects with multiple teams and stakeholders

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
