On the Black Canyon program, you will be responsible for developing systems engineering artifacts and engaging with customers, mission partners, and other stakeholders to satisfy and fulfill customer directed objectives on a unique, new effort. You will execute and perform system testing to ensure the system is operationally acceptible to the end users.  You will be part of a growing team building a critical capability that will directly impact National Security.  This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast moving, lean and focused team that will help you experience and learn all aspects of the system lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

As a member of the Systems Engineering team you will:

  • Perform in an accelerated, collaborative, dynamic small team environment, closely integrated with customers and mission partners
  • Ensure consistency of requirements and traceability back to customer objectives
  • Develop the verification details for the requirements to ensure that the system is able to meet the requirements and support the execution of these verification activities
  • Support the successful execution of program Interim Design Reviews
  • Develop systems engineering documentation such as feature description documents, trade studies, Interface Control Documents, and architecture views
  • Participate in informal and formal system test activities
  • Communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
  • Have experience working with Agile teams leveraging Scrum or Kanban
  • Have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI and program accesses

Desired Skills

  • Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and proficiency with systems engineering toolsets
  • Experience with modern engineering practices such as Cross-Functional Agile teams and Capacity-based planning
  • Experience with Systems Engineering tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to interact with software developers to ensure mission requirements are satisfied
  • Ability to understand complex Space mission command and control concepts
  • Interest in the space domain and orbital dynamics
  • Experience with Integration testing, software testing, system testing and independent verification and validation as well as operational system checkout
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD Pipelines, and deploying applications to test environments
  • Experience writing, reviewing, tracing, and verifying requirements
  • Experience developing system architectures
  • Experience working with external interfaces and generating documentation (e.g. ICDs) to support integration with those interfaces

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
