Come join the Lockheed Martin (LM) Launch Systems Integration (LSI) team established under the Enterprise Systems Engineering Organization and shape the future!

LSI supports commercial launch services by partnering with domestic and international launch providers to deliver advanced space capabilities to orbit. The team develops spacecraft accommodations for single- and multi-spacecraft missions while managing launch procurements and long-term strategic agreements across the enterprise.

You will be part of a high-performance team that's creating a best-in-class team culture, all while quickly advancing LM capabilities to meet ever-changing customer requirements.  The LSI team is looking for a dynamic, hardworking Launch Systems Engineering to support multiple programs as the launch mission integrator.  Helping execute on a variety of new and exciting spacecraft flight programs, focusing on LM Demos, new business pursuits and commercial launch opportunities.

In this position you will support numerous projects as part of the LSI Integrated product team (IPT). You will experience integrating with multiple launch providers and gaining knowledge on variety of missions spaces while to develop, coordinate and drive integrated launch solutions for LM mission success. 

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience in systems engineering across the systems lifecycle, specifically focused on integration, test, design, verification, and/or validation
• Experience working across engineeing disciplines and teams (i.e. mechanical, electrical, software, etc.)
• Product delivery experience for key program documentation or deliverables (i.e. test plans, CDR, PDR, or spec)
• Familiarity with all stages of a program lifecycle
• Experience working with external and internal customers on critical program events (i.e. Launch)
• U.S. Citizenship due to program and work location requierments

Desired Skills

• Prior experience working a launch campaign
• Prior experience with spacecraft test campaign and environmental test results
• Familiarity with go-fast programs and pace of small satellite integration and production
• Familiarity with variety of LM Satellite platforms (LM50, LM400, LM2100, Terran Orbital, etc.)
• Experience and understanding of Lockheed Martin Spacecraft production/manufacturing practices and environmental testing approaches and its relationship to launch integration
• Demonstrated Expertise in systems thinking techniques with the demonstrated ability to apply them to a wide range of complex problems and train others in their application
• Excellent technical writing, planning and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with team members
• Familiarity with spacecraft to launch vehicle integration process knowledge and interface management
• Experience in cross program IPT team communication and coordination
• Strong communication skills, clearly driving requirements to program and ensuring multiple teams are working collaboratively towards required goals.
