Join Our Team as a Project Engineer where you will work on the development of a sophisticated state-of-the-art avionics product in a world class Integrated Product Development environment with the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. The FBM program at Lockheed Martin has a long and proud history of supporting the US Navy in its mission of Strategic Deterrence since the inception of the Polaris missile program in December of 1956. We are developing the next-generation of flight avionics for the D5 Life Extension 2 program which will form backbone of the submarine launched ballistic missile program until the year 2084.
What does this role look like?
- Lead, budget, and manage the cost/schedule/technical performance.
- Effectively manage project performance (Schedule, Cost and Technical).
- Coordinate and establish work lanes for incoming / outgoing program needs.
- Support staffing and resource updates.
- Coordinate with the LE2 PLM and the Product Team to balance resource requirements through IPT management.

Coordinates planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering projects within area of assigned responsibility. Plans and formulates engineering program; reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications. Evaluates and approves design changes, specification and drawing releases. Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education.
- Experience leading projects, teams, and development efforts.
- Experience as a CAM and/or Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Experience with one or more of the following with product life cycle (development or deployment,).
- Demonstrated ability to work with technical leads to manage cost, schedule, and technical scope.
- Experience in project management principals (Cost/Schedule/Technical).
- You will need to be a US Citizen, and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Desired Skills
- Integrated program planning experience.
- Subcontract management experience.
- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very sophisticated problems and implement constructive change.
- Missile or space segment design and test experience with one or more subsystems or fields outside of Systems Engineering.
- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
