Location: This position does not support teleworking;the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in: Englewood or Littleton CO and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

• As an Avionics Responsible Systems Engineer you will serve as delegate lead in the design and development of the next generation avionics for the U.S. Navy FBM program. This technical position supports and collaborates with the Missile Avionics RSE, the Avionics Product Area Leaders and the D5LE2 Chief Engineer to ensure technical design integrity through all phases of the program life cycle.




Key activities you will accomplish in this role:

• Work on a cross-functional team in the development and certification of a supplier avionics product.
• Support generation, review and presentation of Product Certification
• Manage risk and identify mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives.
• Lead specific topics (as applicable) during engineering reviews (to include but not limited to): System Requirements Review (SRR), Change Review Board, Engineering Review Board, Quality Review Board, Material Review Board, Failure Review Boards, etc.




To be effective in this role, you will need:

• Experience as a technical lead or responsible engineer.
• Experience supporting the technical evaluation of design and requirements verification.
• Experience in different phases of aerospace hardware development cycle.
• Experience interacting with peers, management and government customers.
• Experience in presentations and in written communication skills.
• 8+ years professional experience.
• Active DoD Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship is required.

Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• Experience in missile or launch vehicle avionics systems with demonstrated expertise in systems design, integration, and test of complex systems.
• Experience in electrical design and avionics architecture development for missile, launch vehicle, and/or spacecraft programs.
• Proven team leadership experience in systems design and development.
• Experience with Model Based Engineering and Agile tools and methods.
• Active DoD Secret clearance is required.

 

Desired Skills

• Demonstrated ability to drive to closure and resolve technical issues/challenges.
• Excellent communication skills, with experience in engaging and influencing senior leadership and external customers.
• Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in strategic nuclear missile systems and/or launch vehicles.
• Experience in key avionics technologies or applicable skills: Flight Computers; Communications; Power Distribution and Grounding; FPGA/ASIC design.
• Experience in the full program life-cycle from development to production; execution roles in major program milestone reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR).
• Experience in working with the U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Program Office.
• Experience in a development and test environment.
• Current or prior Certified Principal Engineer and/or RSE roles at Lockheed Martin.

• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): :$145100.00 - $269500.00

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): :$129000.00 - $239600.00
