• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful development and deployment of RF systems and hardware
• Example assignments include design, test, and troubleshoot RF hardware systems, including prototype and deliverable hardware.

Standard Job Description:
Architects and designs Radio Frequency systems and circuitry. Designs and develops RF circuitry used in high frequency and microwave applications, including receivers, transmitters, antennas, and frequency synthesizers. Responsible for hardware layout, component evaluation, prototype construction, and test. Prepares test methods and specifications; analyzes and tests RF hardware to verify performance characteristics. Provides inputs to Product Development for formal documentation and supports manufacturing during the deliverable assembly and test phase. In addition, develops RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of: antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. Performs link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. Develops and allocates RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. Identifies and tracks RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). Performs RF system/subsystem/component trade studies and CAIV analysis. Supports Life Cycle Costs, reliability, availability, and maintainability analysis.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience with RF hardware systems.
- Experience with system-level RF performance analysis (e.g. RF communications systems, antenna systems).
- Experience in analysis of active and passive RF hardware, performing cascaded analyses, link and gain/loss budgets, and/or using simulation tools to evaluate hardware designs.
- Active secret clearance; must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance; US citizenship required.
Desired Skills
- Ability to engage with leaders, subject matter experts, and individual contributors to develop successful RF communication systems and hardware designs
- Ability to activity listen and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- RF performance simulation (ADS, AWR, SystemVue, or equivalent) and Full-Wave simulation experience (CST, HFSS, or equivalent)
- RF Signal Processing experience desired
- Beam formation experience desired
- Antenna Multipaction / Corona experience desired
- Matlab and/or Python Scripting and analysis desired
- Familiarity with RF test software and tools
- RF prototyping experience
- Fundamental understanding of antenna theory and design
- Understands the effects of dynamic antenna gain and phase changes on GPS receiver performance
- RF design experience including knowledge of power amplifiers, microwave integrated circuit design and RF measurement techniques
- Experience with RF parts selection and evaluation
- Demonstrated understanding of RF test equipment (Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generator, etc.)
- Ability to design and plan for designs to experience flight environments (vibration, temperature, multipaction, corona)
- Vendor interface experience, including evaluating vendor solutions
- Vendor spec writing and procurement experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $110300.00 - $204900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
