Standard Job Description

The Stinger Ground team is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to help lead the team to build and deliver operational capabilities and capture new business opportunities. You will build, organize, and mentor a high performing fast-paced and exciting Agile Development Team with a focus on DevSecOps, the latest cloud-based technologies, and full-stack development!

As Software Engineering Manager you will:

  • Be a self-starting leader, adapting to new tools/processes and will be eager to introduce automation when necessary
  • Communicate well and enjoy working with others in a collaborative environment
  • Lead the development of innovative enterprise, Cloud and application-based solutions for mission management and command and control along with world-class operations and sustainment capabilities of space- based programs in support of national security
  • Lead a SAFE Agile Product team of individual contributors in support of product team execution whose primary focus is on the design, development, and testing of a combined hardware/software solution for operational delivery
  • Be responsible for recruiting, staffing, training, career mentoring, and performance management of individual contributors, building string teams
  • Lead efforts to transform business practices through digital engineering and agile methodologies to optimize the enterprise 

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Experience with software development on ground programs
  • Previous leadership or Product Owner experience of technical teams
  • Top Secret security clearance required and the ability to obtain an SCI clearance

Desired Skills

  • Experience leading teams in dynamic environments
  • Demonstrated change agent - e.g., implementation of new processes, systems, etc.
  • Adaptive thinker - willing to take calculated risks
  • Previous experience in vetting, hiring, staffing and building strong teams
  • Deep Software Development background, with a track record of successful project delivery
  • Cloud/containerization experience with a good understanding of distributed systems and designing for scalability
  • Demonstrated change agent - e.g., implementation of new processes, systems, etc.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
