Standard Job Description
Who we are:
We are a dedicated, highly selective team at the cutting edge of National Security Space managing suppliers in the creation of innovative technologies that address the customer’s most unique and pressing challenges. Our work culture fosters creativity, teamwork, and continuous learning through humility. Our functional leaders empower and mentor, rather than micro-manage and direct—we prefer speeding tickets, not parking tickets. We value and reward career growth with more of the same, including functional leadership roles.
Why join us:
This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of administrating and negotiating subcontracts with supplier counterparts for disruptive new deliverables that drive the success of a quickly growing business area with tremendous opportunity for advancement. Additionally, our mission segment specifically offers the long-term stability of working on programs that few other companies can hope to compete in.
The Subcontract Administration (SCA) position is an exceptional opportunity for passionate early career SCAs to expand their skillset on unique subcontracted efforts. This role supports learning i) RFP development of various contract type(s) and their, incentive fee management plans, Performance Based Payment (PBPs) Plans, and CorpDoc terms, ii) negotiating tactics to definitize, and iii) continuously cross-examining suppliers in execution to ensure on-time delivery and justify improved terms when appropriate.
Who you are:
You are learning that the Subcontracts org plays a dual leadership role on a program—an initiator to compel the supplier and the program to meet commitments so the supplier can deliver. You aspire to become a proactive, curious, exacting, and demanding customer on behalf of your company and are beginning to apply this approach to suppliers and internal functions alike. A company has very few externally facing roles and as one of these select few your supplier interactions rely on curiosity, logic, and professionalism. As an SCA you are learning the ins-and-outs of compliant subcontract administration and negotiation and you take ownership of your subcontracts.
The work:
Work is performed under tactical direction. As an SCA, you will execute RFP development, source selections, negotiations (T&Cs, Price, NDAs), issue compliant contracts and POs, administrate mods, and ensure supplier performance by raising questions as you see fit. You will be a part of a Subcontract Management Team (SMT) comprised of other SCAs, SCMs, SPMs, and Engineers supporting the PM profit/loss owner. As an early career team-member we will mentor and guide you in proper subcontract administration, negotiation, and compliant processes and increase your area of responsibility as you grow in the role.
