You will be the Aircraft Painter for the team which is responsible for setting up various types of spray painting equipment and applying primer, finish, and protective paint and paint-like coatings to parts and subassemblies.


What You Will Be Doing


As the Aircraft Painter, you will be responsible for obtaining paint types, colors, number of coats, and areas to be painted from work orders, engineering drawings, and process specifications.


Your responsibilities will include:

  
Mixing paints to specified proportions and to obtain proper consistency for application
  
Performing incidental preparatory duties such as cleaning and preparing surfaces for painting and masking to skin breaks or other physical references
  
Laying out for, masking, and spraying all types of primer, finish, and protective coatings on surfaces of detail parts and of sub-assemblies
  
Making operating adjustments to painting equipment to control spray pattern, density, and splatter as required
  
Spray painting crew, equipment, passenger, stowage, and wheel-well compartments, and other interior surfaces of unstuffed major aircraft assemblies

Who You Are


The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and experienced painter with a strong knowledge of spray painting techniques and equipment. You will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and process specifications, and the ability to work with decimals, fractions, and proportions.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

 

Work schedule currently 4x10, may go to 3x12.

Basic Qualifications

A Candidate is required to have the following minimum level of experience: 

1. One year of production spray painting experience, either aircraft or auto body. (ability to operate spray painting equipment and use acceptable spray painting techniques).

OR

2. One year’s experience in the application of decals and spraying stencils, or other equivalent experience.

Desired Skills

Commercial or Military Aircraft painting.

  • $22.08 - $47.70
