Standard Job Description

The Level 3 Industrial Engineer will lead end‑to‑end value‑stream analyses and develop integrated process‑improvement roadmaps, while designing, simulating, and validating advanced manufacturing layouts, work‑cell configurations, and automation solutions. In this role, you will manage and mentor Level 1–2 Industrial Engineers and analysts, providing technical guidance and performance feedback. You will conduct detailed time‑study, method‑study, ergonomic, and capacity‑planning analyses, producing robust SOPs and work instructions, and own key Lean/Six‑Sigma projects (e.g., Kaizen, DMAIC) from charter through implementation and sustainment. The position requires developing and maintaining KPI dashboards and using statistical tools (Minitab, JMP, Python, R) to drive data‑based decision making. Collaboration with cross‑functional teams—including Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Engineering—is essential to align engineering solutions with program requirements. Additionally, you will prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and briefings for senior leadership and external stakeholders, and support acquisition, integration, and certification activities as needed (e.g., DoD, ISO standards). 

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field

5–8 years of progressive experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering; proven track record delivering large‑scale process improvements

Advanced competence with MS Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, VBA)

Expertise in simulation/analysis tools (Arena, Simio, AnyLogic, or equivalent)

Proficient in CAD/CAE (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and digital manufacturing platforms

Strong statistical analysis skills (Minitab, JMP, Python, R)

Deep knowledge of Lean, Six‑Sigma (Black‑Belt level preferred), Theory of Constraints, and ergonomic/human‑factors engineering

Desired Skills

Masters degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field

Previous experience working in the defense industry and manufacturing environments - high volume or high‑mix, low‑volume

Familiarity with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

Prior involvement with managing large amounts of data, project management

Knowledge of workplace safety (OSHA) and ergonomic principles to design safe, efficient workstations

Systematic approach to root‑cause analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone), creativity in generating improvement ideas, and decision‑making based on quantitative evidence

Demonstrated ability to lead multi‑disciplinary project teams, mentor junior engineers, and influence stakeholders at all levels

Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of producing clear technical documentation and persuasive executive briefings

Lean Six‑Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification (preferred)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $76700.00 - $142500.00
