Standard Job Description

Performs manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment.

The Material Handler Distribution Support performs both manual and clerical duties related to shipping and receiving, using equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices as needed, while operating computer systems to accurately maintain shipment data. This role is responsible for receiving incoming materials, preparing outbound shipments, and verifying the quantity, weight, and conformity of materials to specifications. This individual generates and maintains records of shipped materials, including bills of lading, and ensures that items are routed to their proper destinations efficiently and safely. Additionally, the position may involve laying out, fabricating, and assembling custom shipping crates and boxes, as well as preparing parts, tooling, and other items for special shipments that require unique handling or packaging solutions.

Basic Qualifications

Basic computer skills/Microsoft Office

Experience doing manual and clerical material handling and kitting duties

Must be a US citizen for facility access. 

Desired Skills

Warehouse and/or inventory management experience

High attention to detail

Great communication skills
