Role Overview
Turn complex engineering designs into precise, production-ready CNC programs. In this role, you’ll drive machining strategy, validate programs on the shop floor, and help improve manufacturing performance from prototype through full-rate production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machines
- Interpret engineering drawings and define machining approaches
- Select tooling, speeds, and feeds to balance precision and efficiency
- Validate programs through machine prove-outs and setup support
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues in real time
- Create and maintain clear manufacturing work instructions
- Train and support machine operators as needed
- Assist with new equipment setup and production ramp-up
- Partner with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve processes
- Support tooling and fixture development for repeatability and performance

Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Basic Qualifications
To be considered, candidates must meet all requirements listed:
- Minimum of 3 years experience programming CNC machines (3-, 4-, and 5-axis)
- Proficiency with CAM software for CNC programming
- Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, speeds, and feeds
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and define machining strategies
- Experience validating CNC programs (prove-outs) and troubleshooting production issues
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with engineering and production teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
- Ability to work on-site full-time
Desired Skills
Nice-to-have skills that strengthen candidacy but are not required:
- Experience with Siemens NX CAM software
- Familiarity with Mazak / Mazatrol controllers
- Experience with tooling or fixture design
- Background in process improvement or lean manufacturing
- Experience supporting new product introduction or production ramp-up
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95900.00 - $178100.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
