You will be the Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Level 3 (PrSM Increment 2) for the PrSM Increment 2 Program Manufacturing Engineering team. Our team is responsible for delivering advanced manufacturing solutions that improve producibility of early designs, create robust manufacturing plans, and support the transition to low‑rate initial production.

 

What You Will Be Doing 

As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Level 3 (PrSM Increment 2) you will be responsible for driving execution, integration, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes across the program. 

 

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage day‑to‑day execution and close‑out of assigned manufacturing engineering tasks.
  • Work with production teams to transition new products and processes into manufacturing.
  • Partner with design and engineering teams to improve producibility and reduce production risk.
  • Gather relevant data and prepare concise briefs for Integrated Product Team (IPT) briefings.
  • Perform proactive affordability analyses and devise cost‑saving strategies

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance. A company‑sponsored interim Secret clearance is required to start. 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, etc.) or equivalent education/combined experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven record of influencing production processes through improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing/assembly/production processes and creating/reviewing work instructions.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve technical/process issues ranging from basic to complex.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, CAD models, GD&T, product specifications, and other systems integration data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Availability to travel domestically at least 25 % of the time.
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain an active Secret clearance.

 

 

Desired Skills

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles; Lean/Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • CREO design experience.
  • Familiarity with SAP and/or other MRP production control systems.
  • Proven ability to improve cost, schedule, quality, and/or safety.
  • Shop floor manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience in program development with strong cross functional collaboration and leadership.
  • Experience drafting statements of work and proposals.
  • Experience with make buy generation and strategy.
  • Background in designing manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, machining, equipment installation, and material handling.
  • Knowledge or experience with Manufacturing Readiness Levels (MRL).

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
