Plans, implements, tests, documents, and maintains solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems and/or systems. Synthesizes customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Establishes functional and technical specifications and standards, solves hardware/software interface problems, defines input/output parameters, and ensures integration of the entire system or subsystem. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability, develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems. Coordinates subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive subsystem and/or system level evaluation reports which verify and validate system performance. Writes discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems and systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Summary of key duties for this position which closely aligns with Manufacturing Engineering for the program needs:

• Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.

• Designs arrangement of machines and equipment within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.

• Provide floor support for critical path deliveries ensuring schedules are not impacted and adjust immediate priorities to close out urgent tasks first.

• Write the sequence of operations and specify procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.

• Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.

• May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.

• Inspects performance and usefulness of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.

• Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.

• Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

• Assist with identifying and vetting new capable vendors to support the new procurement effort for flight and tool designs.

• Collaborates with Material Resource Planners (MRP) to kit appropriate parts and callout accurate “As Required” material for use during the fabrication processes.

• Coordinates documentation with Quality Engineering to document defects, disposition of hardware and the corrective action to reduce repeat failures.

• Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace)

• Experience with writing manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, welding and material properties and material handling

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and general understanding of dimensional tolerances

• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance

• US Citizenship is required 

Desired Skills

• Familiarization with flight hardware handling, assembly and fabrication.

• Experience with tooling design or inspection gauges.

• Experience with 3D modeling software and hardware design.

• Experience with welding applications and procedures
