Standard Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Airframe Structure Design Engineer to join our AMMM (Advanced Materials and Manufacturing for Military Aircraft) program. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design and development of airframe structures and installations for C-130 aircraft. This position is in Marietta, GA.
Responsibilities will include:
- Lead a team of airframe structure design engineers in the design and development of airframe structures, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory regulations.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that meet their requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the design and development process.
- Coordinate with support organizations, including stress analysis, manufacturing, tooling, supply chain management and quality assurance, to ensure the successful implementation of airframe structure designs.
- Conduct technical reviews and provide feedback to team members to ensure the quality of design solutions.
- Develop and implement design standards, processes, and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of airframe structure designs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and new technologies in airframe structure design, and recommend their adoption where appropriate.
- Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and careers.
- Prepare and present technical reports, presentations, and proposals to customers, management, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and other forums to provide technical expertise and contribute to the success of the AMMM program.
- May require some travel and overtime. Ideal candidate would have aerospace design experience with knowledge of configuration management techniques, drafting/drawing conventions, and aerospace specifications and procedures.
The successful candidate must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, equivalent education/experience considered
• Aircraft or related Design / Test / Support experience
• Experience in CAD systems (i.e. CATIA V5, CCD, NX, SolidWorks, etc.)
Desired Skills
• Familiarity with mod / kit design
• Familiarity with legacy aircraft programs
• Excellent communication, presentation, people and team skills
• Proven history of strong work habits and a positive attitude
• Familiar with Earned Value Management techniques and associated reporting for cost and schedule status
• Familiar with assigning tasks, planning work and oversight of tasks through completion
• C-130 experience
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
