In this role you will:
- Provide support to a variety of Space Programs by analyzing test data, and other engineering duties
- Perform Contamination Control technical engineering assignments
- Be responsible for contamination control requirements derivation, verification, and various contamination analyses
- Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes, prepare technical and progress reports, prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports
- Coordinate with other teams such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement
- Mentor and train early to mid-career engineers
- Create and lead solutions to complex technical challenges

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:
Evaluates technical and economic factors, recommending engineering and manufacturing actions for attainment of design objectives of process or product by applying knowledge of material science and related technologies. Reviews plans for new products and factors, such as strength, weight, and cost to submit material selection recommendations ensuring attainment of design objectives. Plans and implements laboratory operations to develop material and fabrication procedures for new materials to fulfill product cost and performance standards. Confers with producers of materials, such as metals, ceramics, and polymers, during investigation and evaluation of materials suitable for specific product applications.
Basic Qualifications
• Contamination, materials, or process (PMP) related background and/or field of study
• Experience with cleanrooms, precision cleaning, materials testing, or thermal vacuum test
• Understanding and application of IEST-STD-CC1246, ISO-14644, ASTM E 1548, analytical laboratory equipment or techniques that apply to specialized contamination monitoring equipment and tools
• Experience with Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition
• Willingness/ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph - US Citizenship Required - no clearance required to start
Desired Skills
• Active or Current TS/SCI w/poly clearance
• Good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Experience establishing and implementing technical requirements (specifications, program plans/requirements, etc.)
• Experience implementing contamination control for space applications or related field
• Experience with precision cleaning of hardware or producing verification products for government customers
• Comfortable working around critical, high value hardware
• Understanding and experience with system level Integration and Test including environmental requirements related to the assembly of the LM Space Vehicle.
• Experience creating and implementing cleanroom hardware, facility, and personnel requirements
• Experience working collaboratively with customers and teammates
• Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
