Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time, early career Mechanical Engineer to join our team in King of Prussia, PA.


In this role, you will:

• Work under the direction of other engineers to research, design, analyze, and develop components, assemblies, and systems for Lockheed Martin Space products.
• Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to technical problems of varying complexity while assuring sound technical content and timely closure.
• Develop, review, and maintain engineering documents, specifications, and technical analyses necessary to support product build and testing activities.
• Generate and release drawings using CAD software.
• Be a member of an integrated product team, reciprocally interacting with other engineers, manufacturing personnel, suppliers, and customers.
• Represent the organization in design reviews, readiness reviews, and review boards. 

Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

In this role, you will perform design related activities including designing structural components and assemblies, creating and releasing drawings, and supporting hardware procurement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education with commensurate years of professional experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical modeling tools, such as Solidworks, CREO, or CATIA
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a Secret clearance, Must be a US Citizen
  • 1-2 years professional experience

Desired Skills

  • Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Fundamental understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials
  • Experience with additive 3D printing parts
  • Desire to work with propulsion, structures, mechanisms, thermal, analysis and all things Lockheed Martin Space! 
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $79300.00 - $147300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
