WHAT WE'RE DOING
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Mechanical Engineer to join our Accelerated Materials & Product Development (AMPD) engineering department and laboratory. In this role you will design, analyze, and test a variety of structures and systems to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
THE WORK
- Lay out conceptual designs early in the design phase and support proposal efforts
- Support mechanical design throughout the execution phase on multiple projects
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to evaluate material and component structural and thermal data applying it to the design
- Interpret design specifications, codes, and standards to ensure project compliance.
- Collaborate with project teams to verify design intent and resolve issues promptly.
- Provide technical support during fabrication and validation phases of the engineering cycle.

- Familiarity with CREO Parametric or similar 3D CAAD software tools - Windchill, EPDM
- Understanding of and able to apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Self-starter and independent worker
- experience with launcher and missile canister development
- comfortable working on a dynamic, fast paced team under demanding schedules.
- familiarity with composite products.
