The Work
We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Advanced Electronics Packaging & Analysis group in the Sensor Mechanical Design Center. In this role, the selected candidate will serve as the technical lead for the development of electro-mechanical packaging architectures and detailed designs for elements of large-scale radars and airborne systems. The candidate will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary efforts, interfacing with Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Drafting, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to define packaging strategies, drive trade studies, and ensure robust, producible designs.
This Lead Mechancial Engineer will provide technical leadership in advanced microelectronics and packaging technologies in support of low-SWaP (Size, Weight, and Power) solutions to meet Lockheed Martin sensor and mission needs. The selected candidate will own and guide the end-to-end lifecycle of these technologies, working closely with cross-functional teams on design, development, integration, test, and requirements verification. Responsibilities include leading the creation and approval of technical data packages, planning and conducting design reviews, engaging and technically guiding suppliers, and directing lab and test facility activities.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 9 years professional experience
• Proficiency with 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Software such as Solidworks or Creo. Creo Preferred.
• Designing electronics for military environments.
• PWB/CCA and electronics packaging experience
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance at the SECRET level. U.S. Citizenship required
Desired Skills
• Master's degree in mechanical engineering
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams
• Structural / Thermal Analysis experience with ANSYS Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or compatible tool
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) experience
• Cost Account Management experience
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing

- $110500.00 - $208344.00
