The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) in Mount Laurel, NJ is seeking a full-time Computing Systems/Software Senior Engineer for their Infrastructure, Communications, & Network Engineering team to support multiple Mission Integrated Command & Control (MIC2) Lines of Business (LOB) programs. This role will involve a combination of software development and systems engineering using an Agile, Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) approach.
Tasking can include:
• Software Design/Development/Integration/Test
• Systems Design/Development/Integration/Test
• Deriving of program requirements
• Integration, test and requirement verification
• Configuring networks/operating environments
• Applying Cyber Security solutions
• Scripting updates
• Distributed messaging and troubleshooting
• Data analysis
• Technical documentation
• Streamlining engineering processes
• Automation and forward leaning technologies

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computing & Informatics or related technical degree
• 5 years experience as a software and/or systems engineer working on paper-to-product software solutions with delivery in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment
• Experience with Linux (preferably RedHat) or experience with network device configuration
• 1-2 years experience as a mid-senior software engineer troubleshooting, debugging, and configuring software products in a lab test environment
• Demonstrated ability to plan and complete engineering tasks within constraints while exemplifying a full spectrum leadership growth mindset to lead other engineers, whether peers or juniors, in a technical task
• Demonstrated ability to prepare engineering documentation, e.g., specifications, test plans, test procedures, test results as well as conduct technical briefings and design reviews
• Experience with developing technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
• Must be willing to work onsite in Mount Laurel, NJ
• Willing to travel occasionally to customer sites
• Ability to obtain & maintain a security clearance at the Secret level. U.S. Citizenshiip required
Desired Skills
• Experience with Software lifecycle development, various Programming Languages (C++, Java) and unit testing
• Experience with Ansible or other automation tools
• Experience with containerization, virtualization, and/or service orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes, Docker, Podman)
• Understanding of messaging and network protocols such as Data Distribution Service (DDS), HTTP/S, TCP/IP, DNS, Kafka
• Experience with Open DDS, RTI DDS, DDS Secure - middleware messaging protocols and debugging with COTS products such as Wireshark
• Relevant certifications per Job Description and Basic Qualifications list
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
