Standard Job Description

Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs. Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes. Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract. Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customer to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance. Establishes design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test. Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or changing contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.

Basic Qualifications

  • The candidate will have an appropriate degree from an accredited university (e.g. Business, Science, Engineering etc.), or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Must have excellent organization skills, communication skills and an analytical ability to develop and deliver concise presentations
  • Must be able to establish and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Results oriented with an ability to deliver
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership behaviors; possess positive attitude; creates and sustain inclusive work environment
  • Familiarity with Risk & Opportunity Management process
  • Position requires the ability to obtain/maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance, which requires US Citizenship

Desired Skills

•    5+ years of experience with defense programs
•    Experience managing cost and schedule performance of a technical baseline.
•    A broad understanding of Aegis programs, including systems engineering and integration and test.
•    Proven ability to multi-task and ability to manage multiple simultaneous program efforts
•    Demonstrated experience working across functional organizations.
•    Experience with managing Technical Instructions and delivering CDRLs
•    Strong interpersonal communication and formal presentation skills, including the ability to interface at all levels and with multiple departments both locally and virtually
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to motivate and influence individuals outside team boundaries to accomplish wider organizational goals.
•    Proven ability to multi-task and ability to manage multiple simultaneous program efforts.
•    Experience leading or supporting proposals
•    Experience with EVM (Earned Value Management)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
