This occupation performs the scope of complete aircraft assembly at all stages of production prior to flight line operations. An employee in this position may perform a wide variety of operations across multiple skill sets with highly concurrent assembly of aircraft structures, systems installations, and verifications.

This occupation requires performing the complete assembly, installation, and integral mating of structural components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies. This includes rework, repair, and incorporation of design changes during major component assembly, mate, and final assembly.

Works from detail, assembly, and installation blueprints, production illustrations, 3D models, planning, or other authorized documents.

Works with authorized personnel as necessary to determine satisfactory assembly and installation sequence and to build completely the subassemblies and assemblies accordingly. Points out need for tooling, parts, or assembly corrections as needed.

Installs Full-Size Determinant Assembly (FSDA) and non-FSDA structural assemblies and sub-assemblies on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs electrical bonding checks where required according to applicable specifications.

Installs electrical and electronics wire harnesses on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs system verification where required according to applicable instructions.

Installs tubing and plumbing lines on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs system verification where required according to applicable instructions.

Installs avionics systems and line replaceable units (LRU) on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs software loads where required. Performs system verification where required according to applicable instructions.

Installs aircraft power plant systems on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs system verification where required according to applicable instructions.

Installs flight test instrumentation (FTI) and ground test instrumentation (GTI) on aircraft or aircraft components. Performs system verification where required according to applicable instructions.

Performs sealing operations at the structural, tubing, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical level.

Reworks and repairs details, assemblies, and installations where required. Takes corrective action of electrical and mechanical nature on structural, tubing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, controls, avionics, and power plant installations where required.

Performs design validation test (DVT) on major production, prototype, new, recurring, or modified electronic or mechanical systems prior to or after installation on the aircraft.

Performs satisfactorily a diverse set of assembly tasks which may include the assembly and system validation of pre-drilled assemblies and pre-built wire harnesses from step-by-step model-based work instructions.

Basic Qualifications

1. Two (2) years of Aircraft structures and/or aircraft electrical experience.  Ability to pass a company facilitated entrance MMT exam is required.

OR

2. Two (2) years of experience as an A&P Licensed Aircraft Mechanic and a passing score on the company facilitated entrance MMT exam is required.

You will be required to attend skills training, and take and pass a performance demonstration test following completion.  Failure to pass the testing may result in employment termination.

Positions requiring DOD and/or Program clearances require the ability to obtain and retain clearances at their required levels.
