Standard Job Description

Manages more than one functional area in Quality, Reliability, Test, or Inspection. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Responsible for resource allocation, work assignments and establishing/maintaining an effective business rhythm. Responsible for all aspects of quality for assigned area of responsibility. Communicates quality requirements, concerns and expectations. Active participant in risk and opportunity management processes. Ensures cost commitments and financial responsibilities are met. Ensures appropriate identification and flow down of quality requirements (internal and contractual) and effective implementation of quality requirements. Ensures effective implementation of quality management system within area of responsibility. Ensures effective implementation of a metrics program and actively address adverse trends. Ensures product acceptance and delivery per established process and program requirements. Note: This job code will be used for quality personnel that have lead responsibility for a program with one or more quality disciplines.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in reading and interpreting Engineering drawings and/or specifications, and applying their intent for evaluating acceptance of product quality.
  • Experience using manufacturing processes, specifications, inspection criteria, and/or quality engineering practices.
  • Experience in developing and/or interpreting quality data and QA/Test and Inspection.

  • Demonstrated ability to use processes related to labs/testing techniques, corrective action/problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and without direct supervision.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to lead teams, make and influence decisions.
  • Demonstrated excellent teaming skills - must interface with all levels of management, technical and floor personnel in a multi organizational environment.
  • Union environment experience.
  • Appropriate degree from and accredited college or equivalent experience/combine education.
  • Experience user of QADS, VAS, PDM, JDL, SFM.
  • Experience in Microsoft office applications.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00
