Network Engineer Sr

Lockheed Martin is actively seeking a network engineer to provide layer 2 support our Space business area unclassified & classified program networks located at our Cape Canaveral, Florida, US office. The candidate should have a strong foundation and experience with network design, network hardware procurement, network integration, network deployment, network operations, network monitoring, network troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems. 

 

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Performing full life cycle management of network switches, routers, and network security appliances including the installation, configuration, operations, maintenance, and disposition.

- Providing end user support with troubleshooting capability to the site LAN & WAN, resolves and/or escalations of all hardware, software, or network related problems.

- Performing network hardware and software installation, configuration, and support.

- Performing network deployments, testing, and troubleshooting of LAN (local area network), VLAN (virtual local area network), Wireless LAN and WAN (wide area network) internetworking.

- Performing network monitoring and troubleshooting with network tools and analyzers.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a current DoD/DoW Secret clearance and maintains it throughout the life cycle of the position

• Candidate must hold a current Security+ Certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 level II or higher certification) and maintain it throughout the life cycle of the position

• Demonstrated experience deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing LAN and WAN networks

• Demonstrated experience configuring and maintaining Cisco routers and Cisco network switches

• Experience with two or more, security and communication products and protocols including firewalls, OSI Layer 3, OSI Layer 2, TCP/IP, DHCP, VPN, WAN technologies, and Domain Name Servers (DNS)

• Ability to move, stack and install physical equipment by lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Candidate must have US Citizenship

Desired Skills

• Experience as a Network Engineer

• ServiceNow Support Experience

• Experience with operating and maintaining radio frequency identification (RFID) readers

• Experience with operating and maintaining private branch exchange (PBX) telephone networks

• Experience with operating and maintaining tactical local area network encryptors (TACLANE) and its Gem One management console made by General Dynamics

• Sound knowledge of network architecture, topologies, engineering, design, implementation, and testing

• Professional Technical Certifications (i.e., CCNA, Network+)

• Collaboration tools experience (Confluence, Jira, SharePoint, Teams)

• Experience providing remote network monitoring/troubleshooting/investigation/resolution

• Information Assurance vulnerability remediation

• Understanding of standard DoD security practices such as, STIG/RMF compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts

• Document existing and new network architectures using Visio

• Experience with Agile

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
