Our Production Operations organization is seeking a Production Operations Shop Asc Manager for our Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, LA.
In this dynamic role you will:
• Assist the production team to accomplish daily, on-site production operations activities
• Provide direction to production technicians as required and proactively assist technicians with a focus on reducing work stoppages
• Assist production operations leaders in controlling production costs while maintaining quality standards
• Monitor execution of production orders and clear work stoppages to ensure on time delivery
• Coordinate with production team in resolving production planning and control issues
• Coordinate or lead pre-production activity including floor layout and manufacturing readiness reviews
• Implement 6-Sigma and lean manufacturing processes for all Michoud areas of responsibility
• As part of the Operational Excellence Team, implement changes to improve production operation efficiency, to improve production hardware flow and to improve ability to deliver hardware on-time
• Monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations
• Coordinate with Logistics to develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses
• Support corrective action investigations, provide root cause analysis, and implement innovative solutions and process improvements
• Develop dynamic planning for production activities and floor layouts across multi-functional teams and workstations to ensure optimal sequence of work to minimize and eliminate work stoppages
• Communicate production updates to Production Operations Leaders and customers on a regular basis
• Demonstrate sound judgment to produce quality hardware in a manufacturing environment
• Provide direction primarily to hourly/non-exempt subordinates using established policies and precedents
Basic Qualifications
- Appropriate degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience combined with education
- Prior formal leadership experience
- Prior experience leading cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment, production operations environment, or equivalent
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement projects that improve operational efficiency
- Proven ability to read work instructions to perform manufacturing tasks in the fabrication of aerospace hardware or equivalent
Desired Skills
- Extensive experience as leader, supervisor, or manager
- Familiarity with customer requirements from NASA or the Department of Defense

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $89100.00 - $165500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
