The Communications Representative will spearhead MFC-wide employee communications and partner with the Employee & Executive Communications team, Program Communications, and Business Area counterparts to amplify storytelling across the organization. Acting as the primary point of contact for MFC internal communications channels, the selected candidate will collaborate with program and functional communicators and stakeholder teams to create and distribute cohesive, strategic narratives that support business objectives and drive engagement. The selected candidate will also support the MFC Employee & Executive Communications team with functional internal communications stakeholder groups, and other duties as assigned.
Key Skills and Responsibilities
- Channel Ownership & Stewardship: Serves as the main point of contact for all internal communications channels (intranet, email, digital signage, distribution lists, etc.). Maintain channel strategy, content calendars, and best practices. Provides innovative ideas on how to effectively inform and engage internal teams.
- Strategic Storytelling & Integration: Synthesizes information from multiple functions and programs for dot connection across key business objectives and campaigns. Translates complex technical and strategic concepts into clear, compelling stories for MFC-wide and functional employee audiences.
- Content Development & Review: Writes, edits, proofreads and supports distribution of MFC-wide internal communications. Ensures consistency of tone, branding, voice, grammar, and AP Style.
- Campaign Execution & Measurement: Plans, executes, and tracks MFC-wide internal communication campaigns. Analyzes data and recommend improvements.
- Team Support: Assists communicators in storytelling techniques, questions and channel best practices.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field with 1+ year of experience in internal communications, corporate storytelling, or internal channel strategy; OR bachelor’s or master’s degree in an unrelated field with 5+ years of internal communications, corporate storytelling, or internal channel strategy.
- Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways.
- Previous strategic communications experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Intermediate experience with internal communication platforms and AP Style.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding and application of integrated marketing communication concepts to MFC communications plans.
- Develops communications solutions to problems of moderate scope and principles.
- Work is reviewed periodically for the adequacy of judgement, overall accuracy, and quality.
- Contributes to organizational projects and goals
- Represents on specific projects and teams, contributing to effective collaboration and problem resolution.
- Engages with immediate team members and some external contacts.

Pay Information
GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $74900.00 - $139100.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $67400.00 - $125200.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $59900.00 - $111300.00
- Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
