Standard Job Description
The Critical Materials Procurement Engineer will work with multifunctional points of contact across programs and business areas to mitigate critical materials risk and build a more resilient critical materials supply chain. They will be expected to map out critical materials supply chains, identify and develop new sources and supply networks, and collaborate with programs to understand their current and future critical materials needs.
Responsibilities will include supply chain mapping, and supplier capability and capacity assessments, developing supplier road maps, development and management of risk mitigation plans, rapid response to production disruptions at critical suppliers, and affordability initiatives.
Work to improve the supply chain and reduce supply chain risk to program performance. As part of the Central Procurement Engineering team, this support will span the entire Missiles and Fire Control Supply Chain. This work will be done both independently and in conjunction with program Procurement Engineering teams as required.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
- Experience working with suppliers or subcontractors
- Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams and discussions to drive results
- Project Management Experience
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance
- Ability to read and interpret material and industry specifications
- Familiarity with material properties, certifications, and qualification standards
- Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), including compliance and subcontracting
- Experience with relating knowledge of minerals and material properties to uses in manufactured products
Desired Skills
- Background/Degree in Material Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or similar field, or equivalent experience/combined education
- Lean/SixSigma Green Belt or Black Belt certified
- Risk Management Experience
- Statement of Work or Requirements writing experience
- Research and open source intelligence experience
- Knowledge of common missile and/or sensor subsystems and supply base
- Ability to identify emerging suppliers or new sourcing opportunities

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role.
- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $161300.00 - $299500.00

- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $145100.00 - $269500.00

- Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $129000.00 - $239600.00
