Short Description

The selected candidate will join the Advanced Analytics element of the Digital Tools and Engineering (DT&E) team. Responsible for executing modeling, simulation & analysis and software development. 

They will perform exploratory research and analysis to identify novel and meaningful patterns in data and uses statistical methods to reject or accept proposed hypotheses about  relationships or latent predictive factors discovered through their work to provide business value. Uses a combination of tools, technologies, and numerical computing systems (i.e.: GPU processing, distributed computing, highly parallel coding, cloud computing, machine learning, visualization, system modelling and simulation) to achieve results. Areas of expertise  should include several of the following: applied statistics, text mining, natural language processing, deep learning, optimization, andother similar fields.  

- Operate in a big data (high volume, high velocity, high complexity) environment and apply modeling & simulation technical principles, concepts and techniques to assess Performance
Based Logistics (PBL) metrics using commercial, government, and LM developed tools  

- Use exploratory data analysis techniques to identify meaningful relationships, patterns, or trends from complex data sets and discover opportunities in datasets to support  decision-making  

- Develop predictive models and new algorithms to solve data / business problems  

- Understand the math and statistics behind the models and interpret, extrapolate, and prescribe from data to deliver actionable recommendations using effective visualizations  

- Visualize and communicate findings and provide a quantitative framework for evaluating and analyzing alternatives  

- Support and lead coordination and development of problem statements, root cause analysis and assessment of corrective actions, modeling approaches and ground rules and assumptions (GR&A) 

- Support internal and customer meetings as the subject matter expert with presentations and discussions

- Be familiar with and open to the use of AI development tools

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Data Science, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Physics, or Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, etc.) or related technical disciplines (use of stochastic and deterministic data models) with an emphasis in modeling, data manipulation, and/or the application of mathematical and statistical methods 
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance to perform job duties 
  • Relevant experience in applying analytics to drive business outcomes
  • Experience in analyzing datasets and developing analytics
  • Statistical knowledge and experience with distributed databases, query languages, and/or programming with a scripting language  
  • Strong data visualization skills and proficiency with statistical analysis

Desired Skills

Air System and Sustainment Operations experience is highly desired (F-35, F-22). The selected candidate should have a foundational understanding of a broad set of tools and techniques. These tools could include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Descriptive and Predictive modeling
  • Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (supervised and unsupervised)
  • Advanced statistics and statistical modeling
  • Time series analysis and forecasting
  • Optimization and simulation
  • Communication, story-telling and visualization
  • Distributed computing (Hadoop)
  • Importing, cleaning, and transforming datasets
  • Data warehousing

  • Languages: R, SAS, Python, Pig, Hive, Spark, MATLAB, SQL
  • Experience with commercial and/or open-source optimization solvers (Gurobi, CPLEX, IPOPT)
  • Experience in reconciling disparate datasets, demand forecasting, inventory optimization and/or supply planning methods, readiness  metrics (mission capable, air vehicle availability, etc.)
  • Familiarity with LLM and Agentic code development 

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
