Standard Job Description

  • Performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
  • Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. 
  • Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions.
  • Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence.
  • Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence.
  • Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. 
  • Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

  • Awarded Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 10 or more years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience in a defense industry production environment developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes
  • 10 or more years of hands-on experience with manufacturing and building hardware from engineering design products
  • Must have the ability to analyze electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
  • Microsoft Office suite experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Generates manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, or standard operating procedures
  • Expert problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience identifying, designing, and implementing custom tooling/jigs/fixtures for hardware manufacturing
  • Coaches and provides technical guidance to early career engineers
  • Uses Creo and Zuken
  • Uses SAP, including Apriso and MPMLink, (QNotes, Routings, Bills of material) or a related manufacturing system
  • Applies design for manufacturing (DFM) concepts
  • Implements manufacturing processes for training systems and test equipment
  • Applies knowledge of Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques and implements process improvements
  • Works effectively in a team environment across manufacturing, and engineering, and program management
  • Multitasks in support of multiple concurrent programs and initiatives
  • Advance experience with Project/Product cost estimation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with dynamic requirements evolving while design maturity is increasing
  • Excellent verbal/written communications skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated self-initiated goals and results
  • Detail-oriented due to the nature of electrical & electromechanical assemblies

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00
