Manages the development of long-range objectives and strategic plans for Missiles and Fire Control by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. Directs analyses of business opportunities, surveillance over markets, and financial analyses of acquisition candidates. Oversees the development and monitoring of profitability, productivity, and growth targets. May manage preparation of acquisition proposals, recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans. Directs planning and coordination of business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsibilities include:  

  • Leading 1LMX implementation, NBAE, market analyses ad overall analysis of opportunities and business cases to prioritize key investments.
  • Collaborating with other LM BAs & LOBs to identify opportunities and gaps in the MFC business portfolio to identify growth opportunities will be critical.
  • Partnering with the LM Ventures organization, maintaining customer relations, coordinating industry engagements and providing MFC with market intelligence to shape portfolio decisions incorporating political, competitive, customer strategic priorities, economic and budget environmental assessments.
  • Interfacing with Corporate Strategy & Business Development (CSBD), lead for corporate deliverables with the MFC President, S&BD VP and Finance VP, and collaborate with other business area strategic planning organizations.
  • Providing strategic planning support to each of the LOB VPs and BD VPs, identify opportunities to streamline and increase efficiency, and provide thought leadership and innovative solutions that will support MFC’s future growth

Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to guide, direct and impact the organization, balance challenges associated with strategy development, resource execution, customer requirements, and meeting all commitments.
  • Must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with senior leadership and gain consensus across multiple organizations to enable development and execution of strategic vision.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of Defense Acquisition processes

Desired Skills

 

  • Prior experience in at least two areas; a dedicated Business Development, Capture, Mergers & Acquisition or Strategy Development Role
  • Experienced professional with a minimum of 15 years of Military / Defense Industry experience and demonstrated Broad industry and Department of War knowledge. 
  • Extensive experience within Missiles & Fire Control / US or Intl Missile / Sensor markets.
  • Extensive understanding of USG / DoD acquisition, requirements and resourcing agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability for decision making in uncertain environments and ability to impact the culture of an organization to execute strategic vision
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute high level strategies with proven experience, and an understanding of the development and execution of key milestones
  • Demonstrated ability to work and gain credibility with Corporate, Business Area and Line of Business Executive Leadership.
  • Track record of exceptional performance in relevant assignments.
  • Masters Degree

Pay Information

GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States. Locations are assigned a Geo Zone based on the primary work location of the role. 

  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 1): $180000.00 - $325000.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Sunnyvale CA; Pal Alto, CA; New York City metropolitan area; Newark, New Jersey; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 2): $180000.00 - $325000.00 
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Denver, CO; King of Prussia, PA; Stratford, CT; Moorestown, NJ; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 3): $180000.00 - $325000.00
    • Includes metropolitan areas such as Dallas–Fort Worth, TX; Orlando, FL; Grand Prairie, TX; Marietta, GA; etc.
  • Full-time salary range (GEOZONE 4): $180000.00 - $325000.00
