Standard Job Description

Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

THE WORK
- Demonstrated interest in developing a career in electrical engineering, with the ability to work effectively in hands-on testing/troubleshooting or design-focused environments 
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, automated testing equipment and test-program development.
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting electrical hardware, including circuit boards, cables, and related components.
- Ability to systematically isolate problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with technicians, manufacturing engineers, assemblers, supervisors, and other production team members.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment is beneficial.
- Ability to identify inefficient processes or workflows and take initiative to improve efficiency and overall results.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills through independent or team-based projects and process improvements.
- Strong technical curiosity, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

WHO WE ARE
Our functional group, the Production Operations Test Team, is composed of 16 professionals with acommon purpose to provide the pilots of the United States and our Allies with high quality pilottraining devices. We are the connection between each program’s development engineers whointegrate new capabilities into subsystems and the remainder of our Production Operationsorganization who manufacture high quality components in repeatable processes. We have a uniquerole that gains expertise in both deployable hardware and deployable software.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or pursuing a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college/university.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant technical or para-engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and technical documentation.
- Ability to interpret and generate technical schematics, diagrams, and reports.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant engineering software.

Desired Skills

- Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, including experience debugging circuit boards, cables, and other electrical hardware.
- Familiarity with automated test equipment (ATE) and automated test programs, or demonstrated ability and interest in learning these systems.
- Ability to systematically isolate faults, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Hands-on experience in manufacturing, production, testing, or engineering environments.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills when working with technicians, assemblers, manufacturing engineers, supervisors, and other cross-functional teams.
- Ability to translate technical issues into clear, actionable information for others.
- Demonstrated initiative in identifying inefficient processes and implementing improvements.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a team.
