JOB DESCRIPTION
Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customer samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area.

THE WORK
- Provide technical leadership and oversight to Test Engineering personnel, ensuring test activities are performed safely, accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established engineering and test requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise moderately to highly complex test activities supporting engineering evaluations, product development, qualification, and analysis.
- Research test methods, engineering processes, and technical issues; lead efforts to develop solutions, improve test methodologies, and implement process improvements.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other functional organizations to establish test requirements, resolve technical issues, and support program objectives.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and direction to Test Engineering Aides, technicians, and junior engineering personnel.
- Review work products for technical accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards and requirements.
- Assign, prioritize, and monitor Test Engineering work to ensure schedules, deliverables, and organizational objectives are achieved.
- Lead technical discussions and present test results, analysis, recommendations, and project status to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of test processes, procedures, tools, and documentation to increase test efficiency, reliability, and repeatability.

Our functional group, the Production Operations Test Team, is composed of 32 professionals with a commonpurpose to provide the pilots of the United States and our Allies with high quality pilot training devices. We are theconnection between each program’s development engineers who integrate new capabilities into subsystems andthe remainder of our Production Operations organization who manufacture high quality components in repeatableprocesses. We have a unique role that gains expertise in both deployable hardware and deployable software.

Basic Qualifications

  • • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.
  •  5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably within a Test Engineering or Production Manufacturing environment, with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively and achieve operational goals.
  •  Strong knowledge of Test Engineering or Production Manufacturing procedures, including safety protocols, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and established operational practices.
  •  Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to set clear expectations, build trust, listen effectively, and foster a collaborative and respectful team environment.
  •  Proven ability to coach, develop, and empower employees, providing constructive feedback, recognizing contributions, and creating opportunities for team members to grow and succeed rather than relying on micromanagement.

Desired Skills

  • Experience working in a production environment, with knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control procedures.
  • Experience managing and tracking test metrics and production efficiency metrics.
  • Understanding of currently used technologies and future paths to apply evolving technology toward improvements.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and able to communicate effectively with
    external customer and internal leadership about technical status/issues.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with excellent organizational, motivational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to ensure high-quality deliverables in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  •  Strong problem-solving, accountability, and decision-making skills, with the ability to lead by example, address challenges constructively, take ownership of outcomes, and inspire the team to continuously improve.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $85300.00 - $158300.00

  • Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
