The opportunity
Eligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an active Australian Government Defence security clearance at the level required for the position.
Based in Osborne with some travel as required, a Supply Support Officer opportunity has arisen to provide Logistics Support Services to the Destroyer Enterprise on behalf of Maritime Integrated Warfare Systems (MIWS). Services are provided with respect to the upkeep, update and upgrade of the Aegis Combat System in accordance with the Hobart Class Guided Missile Destroyer (DDG)AEGIS Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Life Cycle Sustainment Management Plan.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide Logistics Support Services to the Destoryer Enterprise on behalf of MIWS.
- Services are provided with respect to the upkeep, update and upgrade of the Aegis Combat System in accordance with the Hobart Class DDG AEGIS FMS Life Cycle Sustainment Management Plan.
- Co-ordinate and consult with Destroyer Enterprise stakeholders with respect to Supply Support activities for the sustainment of the Aegis Combat System in addition to Products delivered under FMS Case.
- Contribute to the management of the DDG FMS Aegis Weapon System inventory in accordance with Commonwealth processes and procedures and the Logistics Support Manual
- Oversee and maintain technical and administrative liaison with key stakeholders including US Navy personnel in sustainment of Combat Systems FMS equipment, including prioritizing, tracking, and delivery of Aegis Weapon System material items.
- Coordinates and controls the prioritization, tracking and delivery of the DDG FMS Aegis Weapon System assets, resolves logistics problems and provides associated correspondence and documentation.
- Execute logistics support to the DDG Aegis Capability Upgrade Program providing Material Management Services including spares reclamation, disposal and cataloguing/codification of Defence assets.
What you'll bring
Essential skills & experience:
- Substantial experience with Enterprise Resource Planning and/or Material Requirement Planning and/or Inventory Management Systems.
- Excellent computer literacy with an ability to analyse and interpret complex reports and maintenance information.
- Previous experience within Defence or similarly regulated environment.
- Significant experience using SAP S4 Hanna or similar ERP systems.
- Substantial experience liaising with service contractors and service providers.
Ideally you will demonstrate the following:
- Use of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems and the ability to analyse technical and maintenance reports and information.
- Courses in ILS, Logistic Management, Support Systems Engineering and/or Asset Management.
Desirable
- Forklift Licence.
