Lockheed Martin is seeking a Manager for Capital Equipment to support operations for rapidly expanding manufacturing at Lockheed Martin in Owego, NY.
Areas we are expanding capabilities include:
- Metal Machining, Welding, and Fabrication
- PWB Fabrication
- Circuit Card Assembly
- Composite Manufacturing
This Manufacturing Engineering Position is responsible for leading and coordinating capital‑project activities for our Owego, NY operations. Responsibilities include:
- Capturing capital needs and ideas
- Vetting proposals
- Managing procurement process of manufacturing capital
- Tracking and reporting project progress to budget
- Ensuring completion and full transition to manufacturing
This position is responsible for the entire life cycle of capital equipment and managing all phases including resolving issues as they arise. This is a leadership position and the successful candidate should have financial and technical experience to track project performance for new capital projects. You will also need the organizational and communication skills to coordinate the projects between Facilities, Manufacturing, and Engineering. The final measure of success will be Capital Equipment in use on schedule and within budget.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Engineering field
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing projects, and influencing outcome
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build partnerships with Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety, Security, Facilities, Supply Chain, and Program Leadership
- Project Management experience managing scope, schedule and budget
- Experience defining or using manufacturing equipment
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Math, Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience managing complex manufacturing capital projects.
- Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple concurrent projects.
- Experience within an aerospace or defense environment.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
