Standard Job Description
Develops and writes Inspection programs for numerically controlled machines using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of Inspection operations. Develops programs for inspecting machinined parts, tools, or sheet metal on numerically controlled machine tools and CMM machines. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements.
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2 + years of hands‑on experience programming CNC or CMM machines (e.g., CNC mills, lathes, Renishaw, Mitutoyo, Zeiss, or Hexagon CMMs).
- Proficiency with G‑code, M‑code, and standard CMM programming languages (e.g., ISO, PC‑DMI, CALIPER).
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with metrology concepts such as tolerance analysis, surface finish, and probe strategies.
- Good written and verbal communication skills; able to produce clear documentation and work collaboratively with design, quality, and production teams.
Desired Skills
- Knowledge of Inspection software (e.g., PCDMIC, CAMIO, CAPPSNC) and the ability to extract geometry for inspection programming.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools for evaluating inspection results.
- Ability to develop custom macros or scripts to automate repetitive inspection tasks.
- Understanding of ISO 1101, ASME Y14.5, and other GD&T standards.
- Hands‑on experience with probe calibration, ball‑bar testing, and other CMM verification procedures.
- Proactive problem‑solving mindset; comfortable troubleshooting both software and hardware issues on CNC/CMM equipment.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $59900.00 - $111300.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
