Standard Job Description

Ensures inspections of fire prevention equipment occur; conducts required fire prevention inspections, reports fire safety hazards and follow up reviews to ensure corrective measures have been taken; ensures fire prevention equipment is in good operating condition and conducts testing for proper functionality; ensures fire extinguishers are serviced and sprinkler systems are inspected/tested as required. Issues hot work permits as appropriate, stands by with fire equipment during hazardous/abnormal fueling operations and other Company operations involving considerable fire hazard, advising as to relevant safety methods and pertinent rules and regulations; conducts explosimeter tests. Must have two-years of firefighting experience, and/or fire related certification/education to assess qualification. Operates a computer work station and must be able to perform basic computer operations; must have a basic understanding of applicable fire codes and Company fire prevention directives and be familiar with the Uniform Fire Code and the National Fire Code.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum one semester at community college in fire related courses OR related experience that would consider – Building Inspector, Firefighter.
