Operates, maintains and repairs high-pressure, manually-controlled and/or fully-automatic steam boilers; services steam boilers by performing such operations as regulating temperatures, draft fans and natural gas/fuel feeds, controlling and maintaining proper fire, checking controls and servicing all automatic equipment, pumps, injectors, and accessories, maintaining correct oil and water treatment and water levels, and recording and interpreting pressure, combustion and other gauges; repairs high-pressure boilers by replacing worn or broken parts, cleaning tubes, tightening leaky tubes, installing and fitting boiler tubes; makes functional check of boilers during firing and after completion of major repair operations.

Must possess license or certificate as required by law.

PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:

Operates, maintains and repairs low-pressure boilers, air compressors, power-generating engines and accessory equipment as required.

Conducts test of boiler water for proper treatment. Takes gas readings. Monitors and maintains CEMS/PGEMS equipment, taking immediate action should emission exceed permit conditions. Oversees Boiler tunes, Chiller annuals, CGA tests/audits, RATA tests.

Maintains chemical levels and inventory, ordering in advance of need. Provide plumbing and electrical support as needed.

Responsible for refrigeration management and chiller operations, including Thermal Energy System regeneration timing for optimal value and performance for the chiller loop.

Operate Siemens control and ensures it is reading correctly and is maintained.

Maintains boilers/chillers logs as required by the company. Maintains the boiler room and adjacent areas in good order.

Assists others as needed during boiler shut down.

Basic Qualifications

Must have prior high-pressure steam boiler operational experience in a central utility plant.

 

Desired Skills

Experience in operating, maintaining and repairing high-pressure, manually-controlled and/or fully-automatic steam boilers; services steam boilers.

Experience with operating and maintenance of chill water system.
