Lockheed Martin Aeronautics is seeking a full-time Plasma Physics Research Engineer. In this role, you will develop advanced plasma technologies, design and execute tests to validate performance, and collaborate with a cross-functional team to integrate solutions into larger system architectures. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of plasma physics, experimental physics, and hardware troubleshooting.

Performs research and/or product development encompassing multiple engineering disciplines, such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.

• Experience conducting laboratory experiments with plasmas.

• Experience with diagnostic and data analysis techniques for plasmas

• Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance to be obtained. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills

• M.S. in Physics, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline

• Experience with high voltage, high power electrical systems

• Experience with scientific computational tools (e.g. MATLAB, Python, 3D CAD, COMSOL, ANSYS)

• Experience in plasma and/or electromagnetic modeling and simulation 

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $91200.00 - $169400.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
