THE WORK 

  • This is a position where the applicant will be expected to support LM Syracuse onsite activities.
  • Represent Supplier Quality Assurance within a integrated Quality Program Team environment.
  • Take an active role supporting Operations department within LM Syracuse to ensure quality standards are in place at suppliers in support of LM Procurements.
  • Collaborate with LM Engineering, Sourcing and Manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place at suppliers in support of LM Procurements.
  • Support and maintain supplier quality assurance to assure supplier product compliance to LM and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate root cause analysis and verify corrective action effectiveness of supplier nonconforming product.

STANDARD JOB DESCRIPTION

Coordinates with Operations, Sourcing, Design Engineering, and the supply base to provide on‑site quality support for aerospace and defense production. Analyzes defect data on the production floor, identifies root causes, and supplies critical information to internal stakeholders so they can initiate the necessary changes with suppliers.  Evaluates technical data, manufacturing constraints, and parts availability to ensure product compliance. Drives technical trade‑offs and standardization that improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and enhance reliability. Recommends design or process changes to mitigate production issues and implements mistake‑proofing measures. Leads cross‑functional teams of internal staff and suppliers to solve problems in producibility, quality, inspection, cost, testing, reliability, and overall affordability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree combined with 2 yrs working experience in the area of Quality Assurance or Procurement.
  • Proficient in reading Engineering Drawings, Schematics, and Performance specifications.
  • Knowledgeable in First Article Inspection (FAI) review.
  • Knowledgeable in defect data analysis, including Root Cause Analysis and ensuring effectiveness of Corrective Action Plans.
  • Knowledgeable in surveillance of AS9100/ISO9001 Quality Management Systems

Desired Skills

  • Knowledgeable in electrical component-level verification and alternative component risk evaluation.
  • Knowledgeable in counterfeit prevention or detection practices/procedures.
  • Ability to perform defect data trend analysis; ability to make rational, risk-based decisions.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to facilitate team problem solving and influence cost-effective solutions.
  • Proficient in fostering working relationships, both internally with supporting functions as well as with suppliers at all functional and leadership levels.
  • Proficient in SAP, P2P, EPDM and Microsoft applications.
  • Self-starter with a continuous improvement mindset, effective time management skills and able to work with high level of autonomy.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $70500.00 - $130900.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
