Procurement Engineer, Senior Staff
What You Will Be Doing
The Procurement Engineer, Senior Staff coordinates with Sourcing, Operations, Design Engineering, the Supply Base & Industry experts to facilitate the design, production, test and qualification of aerospace and defense products. Analyzes technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability. The Procurement Engineer
- Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, inspection of facilities, and historical performance.
- Facilitates technical trade-offs and standardization that may lead to more economical procurement.
- Recommends design changes to mitigate production issues.
- Leads teams of Supplier and internal staff in collaboratively solving problems in Producibility, Quality, Inspection, Cost, Mistake-Proofing, Test, Reliability and Affordability.
In this role you will perform as a Procurement Engineer on the Global Supply Chain Engineering Team. This position works with Global Supply Chain teams, Program and Subcontract Program Managers, Technical Subcontract Managers (TSM), Supplier Quality, Design engineering and others to identify supply chain disruptions and mitigate issues. Our Procurement Engineers engage with internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve emerging and complex technical issues affecting component on-time delivery and shortages. This role also performs root cause corrective action, supplier evaluations, technical evaluations. This role serves as the technical liaison between global supply chain buyers, IPTs, and suppliers.
- This position will support Aircraft Vehicle Systems.
- This position supports F-35, AMMM, IFG and ADP product lines.
- This position requires approximately 20% travel to work with suppliers at their facilities, including the potential for some international travel.
- Good communication and negotiation skills are a must since the job requires constant interface with different functions and suppliers each with different and sometimes competing priorities.

Basic Qualifications
STEM degree from an accredited university
Experience with aircraft vehicle systems
Experience leading root cause corrective action
Desired Skills
Engineering degree from an accredited university
Experience working closely with suppliers to resolve technical issues and ensure all procured material meet quality and performance standards
Written and verbal communication skills for technical discussions with suppliers, internal teams, and customers.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
